An Introduction to Chinese, Japanese and Korean Computing

چکیده
Turing machine (the author asserts that it has never been built?), nonstandard logics, or nonmonotonic reasoning. The chapter on expert systems does not really explain what an expert system is, nor how it works, nor how it could be used by a CALL system. So these topics will be rather confusing for the nonspecialists. To conclude, it seems to me that this book will not contribute to familiarizing language teachers with notions of computer science and artificial intelligence.

متن کاملFREQUENCY OF C3435 MDR1 AND A6896G CYP3A5 SINGLE NUCLEOTIDE POLYMORPHISM IN AN IRANIAN POPULATION AND COMPARISON WITH OTHER ETHNIC GROUPS
ABSTRACT Background: It is well recognized that different patients respond in different ways to medications. The inter-individual variations are greater than the intera- individual variations, a finding consistent with the notion that inheritance is a determinant of drug responses. The recent identification of genetic polymorphisms in drug-metabolizing enzymes and drug transporters led to the ...
متن کاملProcedures and Problems in Korean-Chinese-Japanese Wordnet with Shared Semantic Hierarchy
This paper introduces a Korean-Chinese-Japanese wordnet for nouns, verbs and adjectives. This wordnet is constructed based on a hierarchy of shared semantic categories originated from NTT Goidaikei (Hierarchical Lexical System). The Korean wordnet has been constructed by mapping a semantic category to each Korean word sense in a way that maps the same semantic hierarchy to the meanings of nouns...
متن کاملCross-linguistic influence of first language writing systems on brain responses to second language word reading in late bilinguals
Introduction How human brains acquire second languages (L2) is one of the fundamental questions in neuroscience and language science. However, it is unclear whether the first language (L1) has a cross-linguistic influence on the processing of L2. Methods Here, we used functional magnetic resonance imaging to compare brain activities during L2 word reading tasks of phonographic Japanese Kana bet...
متن کاملJapanese to English/Chinese/Korean Datasets for Translation Quality Estimation and Automatic Post-Editing
Aiming at facilitating the research on quality estimation (QE) and automatic post-editing (APE) of machine translation (MT) outputs, especially for those among Asian languages, we have created new datasets for Japanese to English, Chinese, and Korean translations. As the source text, actual utterances in Japanese were extracted from the log data of our speech translation service. MT outputs wer...
